The Radiators

Friday night and we were on the road again , heading up the M1 towards Newcastle. Our destination was Beresfield Bowls Club not too far from the famous ( or make that infamous Hexham Bridge. What a great club and quite big . It's tucked away off the main drag and it's a real surprise packet. On entering the foyer we were told by the staff that the gig was a sellout ! That's the way to get us in the mood quickly. When we hit the stage though , we were wondering where all the people were.

The Berro crowd were a bit shy and hanging back a bit at first. It didn't take long for them to warm up fortunately ... about halfway through our second song Summer Holiday ,the dance floor started to fill. And that's the way it stayed in what was a most enjoyable gig. Thanks to all you good people for getting out and about and making us feel so welcome .

Saturday night was a lot closer to home with the band returning to the New Victoria Tavern in Wetherill Park in Sydneys' western suburbs. It was election night so we were worried that people would be staying at home , glued to the tele and watching the voting results.๐Ÿ˜‚...( just joking) A healthy crowd .. well they looked pretty fit...were present and ready to rock! It was such a fun night and there was great vibe in the room. Hellcat Limo got the place moving with a really good tight set.

Thanks guys much appreciated. Everyone was well and truly in the mood by the time we hit the stage. So many Rads t-shirts on display too ...you fashionistas !! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Thanks to all the punters who came along and contributed to a great night.

Our newly formed political party" AMP" .. didn't fare that well in the election unfortunately ,so it looks like we are destined to stay humble musicians for a little while longer yet !
Cheers from the Rads.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thanks Steve Thomas Band Photography for the awesome shots

**Thanks Penrith**

Penrith, at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains, .was our destination on Saturday night. We've had bigger crowds there, but still, it was quite reasonable numbers that turned out for some live music at the Pioneer Tavern.

It was a great night and a very happy bunch of locals indeed. Lotsa fun for us too as we extolled the virtues of our newly formed political party.. the AMP !...(Australian Musicians Party). Our platform is ... wooden slats with metal legs ....and our policies are Free Beer and alcohol for all and free everything for everybody !! So remember us Folks when you cast your vote this Saturday ๐Ÿ˜œ.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Tav on the weekend and gave us at least your vote of confidence anyway and... for putting up with a couple of crappy snippets of "Miss you" by the Stones and "Paranoid" by Sabbath . (Well ..someone did yell out "Play some Sabbath !!"...so it's their fault !)
Love your work good people of Penrith ,
cheers and free beers ๐Ÿป

The Radiators

Hi Everyone, hope youโ€™re all rockinโ€™ and fighting fit. Itโ€™s come to our attention lately, that whenever we list on our website or Facebook our latest round of gigs, we get complaints. Itโ€™s inevitable that we receive comments that are basically โ€œWhat about us ?โ€...โ€Come to Melbourne, come to Perth, Darwin, this gig /that gig โ€œ etc. etc.

And fair enough too! We totally understand, we sympathize and share your frustration. We would absolutely love to accommodate you all .. be assured of that.

But the reality of the music business is, that we can only go and play where we are invited to come and play! We canโ€™t demand to perform just anywhere we like.

Our dedicated management works relentlessly, reaching out far and wide to secure gigs for the Rads. They continually offer our services to a myriad of venues, clubs and pubs in the hope they will respond and book the band. If then, in turn, they choose not to ...thereโ€™s not a lot we can do about it !.

Please donโ€™t think for one moment, that we are purposely ignoring your area or favourite venue.

Weโ€™ll keep plugging away and ..fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž..we will soon get to play for you in your neck of the woods.
In the meantime, we thank you all for your support and loyalty. It means everything to us, and itโ€™s definitely the reason that keeps us keeping on !!
Kind regards,
The Radiators.

Rock on Rads we cant wait to see you in Cairns very soon .

You'll never hear me complain, having you play in my backyard renders any complaining null and void! It was a dream come true and you guys were the best! A very treasured memory. Thanks again guys. Xxx

Iโ€™m just glad to get the opportunity to see you guys. Always hope itโ€™s nearby but hey you canโ€™t be everywhere like you said. All the best. Xx Thankyou.

Well said and totally understood on behalf of the poor bastards you guys havenโ€™t been able to get to. US, on the other hand was blessed to have you at BELLBIRD HOTEL!! And it was a blast!!! ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽง๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿฅ Libby Campbell Harley Cartwright Natalee Hale

Time to get creative and try modern techniques guys; IF you have the social reach AND the demand is there in those areas, ask your mgt to explore Crowd Funding. Once you have the funds, then just book the venue! Power shifts from Asking the venue if you can attend to Telling them when you'll be there. If interested, ask your Mgr to send me a pm and I'll explain more. Keep Rocking Rads.

I appreciate your efforts to get up to Townsville regularly. Keep on rocking and I'll keep spending my hard earned money to see you.

Here is a bit of reverse selling for the Rads, if we all contact the event manager at your local venues and get others to as well, like 20 people, requesting the guys to play, they will eventually with enough responses and contact the guys management to get them to play. It is hard these days but to get the Rads near you this is one of the ways that actually works these days. So get on the phone or go and see the event manager at your local venues. Do remember that only good venues that have capacity are worth the try. Let's do it fans.

My wife and I are going to see you guys at South's Juniors, we are staying the night as we live on the Central Coast, we are happy to travel to see you, if that is what it takes. It has been many years since I have seen The Radiators, I remember always a fun show, looking forward to a great night, June 28th

Flights, excess luggage, transport, accomodation and meals all cost money. Maybe if all your fans started posting on their local venue site about how AWESOME you guys are then maybe, with enough people power, everyone will get to enjoy The Radiators!! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Can't please all the people all the time , rock on Rads ๐Ÿค˜ So many bands out there would love to have this prob lol .. Cheers lads.

Yes Iโ€™m going for shor

Tell us how much you cost & then we can all arrange for you u to play at our locals . U guy are the best I would have u guys at my Xmas party if I knew the cost . The Rads are the best ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Sadly, the whole music scene has changed, A lot of venues don't even cater for live music! I'm so glad you guys are still playing ... see you next time guys! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค˜

I lobbied my local band venue (Bowral Bowlo) endlessly...and guess what? The Rads have packed the joint twice in the last 12 months or so. Itโ€™s simple folks, request them at your local and get your friends to do so too!

Donโ€™t worry about them lads!! You can only do what you can do! You guys rock. Loved meeting and playing alongside you at rewind in the vines with my band Side Effect this year!! Rock on fellas.

Band management is a thankless job. To have a band do 50 shows a year takes a lot of work and dedication. The cost of touring isn't cheap and venues don't like to spend pokies profit on live music. As a fan I thank you for the work you do for the band.

Keep up the good work guys

I wish I was 17 again.... and could travel further to see you guys ๐Ÿ˜

You guys work tirelessly all over the country and give 100% at all venues that book you guys,itโ€™s a shame that there is a lot of venues that donโ€™t book bands anymore, live music will never die and these other venues will wake up one day and see the crowd that follows you guys, keep rocking lads

Any plans for Goulburn?

Get your management to contact the DesertNats in Alice Springs, you guys would rock that gig!

I've managed to see you guys about 5 times a year for the last 6 or 7 years travelling to sydney from the south coast and catching up witj friends up there while I'm at it. I realise you can't play in every venue in the country but if people really want to see you they have the choice to travel and make a weekend of it if they wish.

Found these ticket stubs whilst tidying up on the weekend. โ™ฅ๏ธ seeing you then, hangin to see another gig soon. Keep Rockin Fellas

Hardest working band I know of ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ž

Absolute legends if you want them in your town start a movement show the pubs no is not an option ๐Ÿค˜

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅThanks Bargo ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Saturday night saw us back on the road and heading south west of Sydney , destination Bargo at the Bargo Sports Club.

It was another one of these โ€œThank God for Sat Navโ€ gigs. How did we ever found our way around to those myriad of gigs in the 80โ€™s snd 90โ€™s without our trusty global satellites guiding us? .. Well , we became โ€œLords of the Gregorysโ€, or we pulled into a Servo and asked directions or flagged down a taxi or some hapless passer by . Somehow we always made it to the gig.

So we were thankful for modern gizmos as we turned off the Hume Highway and were suddenly plunged into the darkness of bush and fog. It was another of those famous African tribe moments.. the โ€œWherethefarkawisโ€. ???. After a few Kms of very dark and kangaroo laden twisting road, out of the gloom appeared light !!.. Bargo Sports Club .. you beauty.

The car park was packed, which is always a sign of good things and we werenโ€™t disappointed! Bloody hell what a great crowd. The place was capacity and certainly in the mood for some live music.

Our thanks to everyone who came along and partied hard with the band. Itโ€™s been years since weโ€™ve been there . Why havnโ€™t we been back sooner? We will definitely be trying to get back to Bargo in the not too distant future.

We donโ€™t think weโ€™ll even need Sat Nav next time! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Cheers from The Rads.

The Radiators

Thereโ€™s not a lot of opportunity for Wednesday night gigs these days. Sadly thatโ€™s the way the scene is these days compared to the halcyon era of the 80โ€™s. But with Thursday being Anzac Day, a lot of people were out and about mid week for our return to Quakers Inn, Quakers Hill in west Sydney.

This suburb has quite a link and memory for the band. It was late August 1978, in a house in Pye Road, where we entered as a group called โ€œBig Swiftyโ€ and emerged 10 days later as the Radiators!

We set up camp in that house, sleeping over, eating and rehearsing and writing most of โ€œFeel the Heat โ€œ during that time. Changing our repertoire, our look, our attitude and name as we responded to the new wave influence that was emerging in music in the late 70โ€™s. We were caught up in the excitement of it and wanted to be a part of it. Leaving behind most of the material that we had played ( a lot being 6 or 7-minute songs with 400 guitar and keyboard solos in each one ! ๐Ÿ˜‚), and morphing into the band that you guys now know as the Rads.

Little did we know that we would still be here and still doing it 40 years later !! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

So it was nostalgic to get back to Quakers Hill and the local crowd never let us down. A great roll up and fantastic response. Thanks so much, good people.
And thanks of course, to ALL of our loyal supporters everywhere ..for sticking with us for the past 4 decades !!! Unbelievable. Who wouldโ€™ve thought ?...

Cheers and kind regards, The Radiators. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

The Radiators

It was a Good Thursday indeed in Adelaide. In fact it was a Great Thursday! A big crowd turned up to welcome the Rads back to the city of churches. The Oasis bar in the Casino was the scene..and what a rockin little venue this is .

We were rapt with how well we went over after a long absence from this beautiful city. Thanks to everyone who ventured out and gave us such a welcome and support .

Weโ€™ve heard we may even be back again for some more Adelaide shows later in the year , so weโ€™ll certainly keep our fingers crossed for that !

Our thanks also to the bands The Babes and Loaded Billy who were on before us. They set the night up with great performances and made for a memorable night indeed. Well done guys ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.

Happy Easter to all . Take care ,and try not to get โ€œnailed โ€œ over the break. Cheers from The Radiators.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

Awesome show...lived in Sydney back in the 80's and followed the Rads, we are now living in Adelaide. We have travelled to Canning vale, Newcastle and Geelong to see you in the last couple of years. It was great to have you in our hometown - word is out - come back soon.

We were proud to warm the crowd up for you legends! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค˜

Man I just fucking love you guys! Youโ€™ve been a part of my life for about 40 years and over the hundreds of times Iโ€™ve seen you I am still yet to be disappointed. In the last few years I havenโ€™t had as much chance to see you live but the way you engage your fans on this page is incredible. You guys talk about every gig and everyone that was there so much it reminds me of all the times I was there. Sorry for the rant but just wanted to say you fucking rock and we love you!

Gigs north and south of home this weekend. On Friday we battled the start of holiday traffic as we headed up the M1 to the Edgeworth Sports and Rec Club. Always a great night at Edgey with a welcoming crowd and it stayed true to form again. Weโ€™ve had bigger numbers there before but it was pretty well attended as usual and a lot of fun . Thanks heaps to everyone who made it along . You guys rock ! We believe we return for another gig in November, so we must be doing something right . Looking forward to doing it all again later in the year.

Saturday night it was a return to Bowral Bowls Club in the beautiful Southern Highlands. It was about a year ago when we played this gig and it was a fantastic night. Well .. it was another cracker !๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

What a massive cheer from the crowd as we walked on. Almost drowned out our intro song ( Led Zeppelinsโ€™ Rock n Roll). We canโ€™t thanks you guys n gals enough for your support and enthusiastic response. Super loud sing-alongs too made for another
memorable night at this rockinโ€™ venue!

A top weekend all round . We now turn our attention to Thursday night and a long overdue return to Adelaide . Woo hoo !! Canโ€™t wait ๐Ÿ˜Š
Cheers from the Rads.
Thanks Gail Beckhouse for the photo. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
