Woo hoo !! Off to South East Qld this weekend for 3 shows . Two of our favourites as well, in the Coolangatta Hotel on Friday night and then on Saturday , Redcliffe Leagues and a brand new one for us , an early arvo show at the Club Hotel in Esk on the Sunday.

Really looking forward to all of them.

Our last gig was in Central Qld the weekend before last ,in what was a blitzkreig 24 hours. Starting with a great gig at Wallsend ( Newcastle)..Mezz Bar on Friday and ending in Moranbah Qld ( aprox 800 km north of Brisbane and a couple of hundred K inland) ..20 hours later. We were invited to be a part of the 4U2 Charity concert which also featured The Eurogliders, Killing Heidi and Jon Stevens. It was a fantastic day with all the bands absolutely firing up and giving great performances ,amid a really good camaraderie amongst all the acts backstage . We were a bit worried though . We’d heard that our mate Jon Stevens was on the warpath ..after someone sent him our recent Ettamogah blog ! Yeah .. apparently we’d left out “ Really friendly with a great sense of humour “ .. Sorry Jon 😂

No it was great to catch up again ,and he even let the Rads loose on his rider! ( that’s the last time he’ll do that. )😄 Thanks Mezz Bar and Moranbah for a memorable weekend. See y’all in Qld again in a few days.
Cheers from the Rads 😎😎😎😎

Quickly running out of superlatives to describe our shows lately! Not that we are complaining, but it probably makes for boring reading for a lot of you. “Great shows, great crowds, great reaction etc etc .”, week after week. But what else can we say? It’s the truth!

We have been blessed to have the best bunch of loyal fans and supporters. You guys n gals keep turning up and we are eternally thankful!

The old Comb n Cutter at Blacktown on Friday night and the Caringbah Inn in the Shire the next night were cracker gigs .

We work hard ..but consider ourselves lucky to be in this position .. an unbelievable 40 years down the track. It’s a team effort .. us and you guys. 😄👍.

“Thanks everyone “.. just doesn’t seem enough ,but in the end maybe ..and hopefully,it is !!

Love your work good people, cheers, the Rads 😎😎😎😎.

Boring and The Rads will NEVER mix, you could just write "Hi" and we would be estatic. It is lovely to hear from you and we are happy to hear "great gigs, packed house, fun nights" etc anytime as for those who can't get to see you live really enjoy hearing that. We are so proud of you and respect and love you so much. Thanks for all your hard work that continues to liven our souls. I don't know how you guys perform so often (I know you are supermen lol), though I am sure glad you do. It's just pure perfection, you will always make my heart smile 😊♥

Such an iconic Australian band that has never truely received the recognition it deserves. The Rads have always been and always will be my favourite band of all time.

It’s us your fans that can’t thank you enough.... The Radiators have given us so much fun and enjoyment so thank YOU for all you have given us for the last 40years.

Forever a fan and have lost count how many times I have seen you guys in the last 30 years!! Love the Radiators ❤️

I’m just tickled pink that we can still see such an iconic Aussie rock band at local venues. I’ve always been a huge fan and when I leave this earth I hope the song playing at my funeral will be “I wished I was 17 again!”

Totally deserved. Love the Rads🤘🤘

Love the Rads. Never seen them do "Acoustic" Never seen them do "Other bands Albums" The Rads continue to play Their music the way we know and love them. This is why your fans will always love what you do. Never change..

Absolutely love going to see you! You never fail to impress and you look as though you are loving performing as much as the crowd loves watching you!!! Go on tour with Pseudo Echo (they're as great to watch as you guys are)

We LOVE YOU. Never stop. You guys are the true testimony of RNR never dies. Keep on rocking. You’re GREAT guys and Australia would be LOST without you 😘😘🤘🤘

Please comeback to the central coast. Your awesome. Xx

As you guys sing, our loyalty, well, ‘It’s Automatic’ 😜 Thanks for 40years of awesome gigs 🙏🏻

Beautiful words. Love your work guys. ❤️

No words needed for all us fans to know just how good you guys really are,the proof’s in the pudding boys, that’s why we keep comeing back to see ya’s again n again, and I can’t wait to see your next show that’s coming up in Queensland,Roll on the Rads

No words needed mate. Great to see you all still out there, pumping the great vibes.

Keep it up!! We love it! 😎

Without you guys we haven’t got a band to be ‘fans’ of!! So thank YOU for your hard work!! Xxx

Come play in Byron Bay we love our music

Come back to Tassie soon we love you guys

We thank you guys too!!

🤘😎 Rock on Rads , Awesome .

Simply two words : Thank You.

Awesome show guys at the Caringbah Inn in The Shire on Sat 25/8. I'll be coming again when you do the Engadine Tavern in Sept. You guys are the best & still rockin it just like when I used to come & see you over 30 years ago. One of my mates saw you for the first time at Caringbah as well & he was impressed only minor complaint he had was that Up For Grabs wasn't in your set which is ones of his faves.

when you up at toowoomba again. the last time i came and saw you guys 4 year ago was just afte rmy heart attack and couldnt dance. well im ready to now.x.

You don't have to feel bad saying great show when the many many fans of your band will say it for you wherever you perform at. To still be performing after 40 years and getting massive crowds at each gig you know you have done something right.

When you are the best & you give the best.......you get the best (if that makes sense) 😎

We were a bit worried on Saturday night as our gig at Riverstone Memorial Club was just down the road really, ( in fact 7 km) ..from our very successful one at the Ettamogah the previous weekend. That's why we were surprised and delighted at the number of people who turned up. The place was packed, people everywhere and another fantastic night for the band.

A big thanks to all the locals who came out and gave us a big Rivo welcome. It’s quite a big club too, really nice, and obviously is the epicentre of entertainment in the area.
Is it true that the locals didn’t want the brand new train line to connect to Riverstone anyway? Apparently, they wanna keep all the riff-raff out! ( Well we managed to sneak in though 😜)..

On another note...It was great to see our mate Dennis Sales, not only out and about, but actually playing drums in the support band. It was driving home from this very gig that Dennis was involved in a horrific accident that very nearly killed him and tragically claimed the life of a young woman in the other car. You may remember the incident as the “3 girls playing chicken and forcing other drivers off the road while filming on their phones “ Bloody tragic and crazy! So it was unreal to see Dennis play and then later bopping at side of stage. Legend !👍onwards and upwards to full recovery pal.

Thanks once again to everyone who came out on a cold Winters night and supported live music.Onya Rivo!

Cheers from the Rads .😎😎😎😎

I was there on Sunday for a family luncheon and realised you guys payed the night before 🙁

Grew up in that area and went to Rivo High in the 70s. Would loved to have been there but I live in QLD now so just a bit far away ☺️ Glad it was a good night. ❤️

I would travel a 1000k to see the rads best touring band in Australia. Brilliant shows over 20 times I have seen you guys always on top of your game

Great night had by all & a bonus to see Dennis Sales Well done 👌🏼

Come to nowra please

Thanks Guys . Australia’s best rock band . Shan Bags Ken Morrow Adrian Sutton

Wow this is pretty classy. It shows a genuine respect and appreciation to the fans not always seen. Awesome. The more I learn about The Radiators and how much love their is for them out there the more it seems to be justified.

Yes, Peter form High st music is in that band. I’m glad Dennis is back and drumming again. 👍

Awesome and glad to hear he is playing again. That story cerainly was a tragic one 😢

I finally got tix for The Cooly gig. 🤪

When we arrived for our show at the Ettamogah Hotel in Sydney’s northwest on Saturday night, we were told that Jon Stevens had played there the night before and had pulled 750 people. It was a collective “Doh!” by us , as we thought he would have got the cream of the rock audience for the weekend ..and we would be playing to just a few hardy souls. Bloody Stevens!😡

He’s a mate of ours but ... take away his impossibly good looking face and his he - man body , his brilliant rich toned masculine voice and his fantastic back collection of songs... the guys got Nothin’!!! 😄

So we were rapt to see a surprisingly large amount of bods when we hit the stage at this iconic venue. What a night ! It was so much fun and the crowd were really up for it. People were just smiling non stop through out the show and sending us such warm feedback. It was a cracker and we thank all of you good souls who turned up and gave the band such a great reception.

After the show and as were cooling down in the dressing room, word filtered back from management that we had a bigger crowd than Jon Stevens! Woohoo ! ... See.. looks and talent aren’t everything !!😂😂 We must have something,.. but after 40 years we still didn’t know what it is !

Thanks again everyone, cheers from the Rads.😎😎😎😎

PS thanks Sharan Prince for the photo! 👍

Always fun at the Rads ..I first saw them as Big Swifty at the Belmont Sportsman's club..It's now closed ..turned into a church I believe...used to be a great venue for bands

You guys are truly entertaining and Showman and sound absolutely fantastic you are as good as the best because you guys are one of the best

Great show guys 40 years and you still well and truely have it! You rocked the joint

Back in Mark Lucas territory on Saturday night. Mark, a long time resident of Penrith and long suffering Panthers tragic . Unfortunately his team went down ..but that didn’t affect his performance or the mood of the locals ,who turned out for the Rads at the Jamison Hotel.

Better crowd than we expected as we’ve been hitting this area quite hard in 2019. Thanks to all you good people for coming out and supporting us once again ,in the usual rowdy Penrith style. Plenty of smiles and encouragement. A great night indeed. Onya guys n gals !

Cheers from the Radiators.😎😎😎😎

A special shout out and thanks to our support band on all our 4 shows in FNQ. The terrific trio and local Cairns legends..“Clam Sandwich “. A really great band with a stack of bloody good original music. The guys worked hard every night to work the crowds up and went over really really well. They were a huge help to us as well, supplying back line and drums ,and generally being quasi roadcrew .. way above and beyond what we could have hoped for or expected. A huge thanks to Rueben, Lofty and Dan. Much appreciated lads ,and good luck with the “Clams”. You guys rock !! Cheers and Tequila 😜, the Rads.

It was a great time to tour Far North Qld.. mid winter! You lucky people who live up that way, have no idea what the city slickers down south have to endure at this
time of the year. Bloody beautiful temperatures up north. We guess the trade-off is, it’s so damn dangerous up there!😄 Crocodiles, marine stingers, Cane field Taipans and Pythons, Cane Toads and even friggin’ giant Cassowaries that can claw you to death! Whew ..😳 Brave people and absolute legends 👍.

We got a few laughs every night bagging ( in good spirit) ..the local fauna and also the fact that the locals drag out their scarves and beanies if the temperature drops below 17 degrees. Went over well !😂

Four really excellent shows for us, starting in Mackay on Thursday, then Townsville, Cairns, and finishing in Mission Beach on Sunday. Lotsa Kilometres in between, after flying into Mackay and then travelling onwards in our trusty hired Pajero before jetting back out of Cairns on Monday. It was a bit of a flashback to the heady and hectic days of the 80’s and 90’s where we would be constantly on the road and living out of suitcases.

Thank you so much to all you good people who came out in big numbers to party on with the band. Absolutely great responses at all shows and so much “after show “ glowing feedback from all the happy supporters we met. So many stories of previous gigs up there, and so many autographs and photos and selfies! Love your work FNQ, we are definitely hoping to get up there again, sooner rather than later. Thank you also to the hospitality afforded us at all the pubs. The management & staff were great at every venue ..and we were treated like Kings. Wined and dined in absolute style. Much appreciated .

Until next time, kind regards and cheers from the Radiators.

PS THanks heaps Tania Theobald for the awesome shot of GT

The Radiators

It was the “D Tour” weekend for us with gigs in Dee Why and Dundas. The Dee Why RSL on Sydney's’ Northern Beaches is a massive club and sort of entertainment central for the area. Always a great place to play and once again we had a good night there, as was the case the following evening at the Dundas Sports Club.

The Sporto has become an annual mid-year event for us that we really look forward to, and again a big roll-up ensured another memorable night in Geoff's old stomping grounds. Thanks to everyone who came out of their comfy lounge rooms for a mid Winter rock out and support live music . Much appreciated indeed. 👍

We are heading to much warmer climates this weekend with a FNQ run , playing Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Mission Beach. Not exactly boardshorts weather we suppose ..but we don’t think we’ll have to pack the scarves and beanies !😄. Haven't been up that way for ages so we are really pumped and ready to Radiate up north.

Cheers from the Rads.😎😎😎😎

Thanks Janine Asquith Brayshaw for the photo!

The Radiators

Aah ..the memories... people lining up to see us on a Thursday night on the Gold Coast. The legendary Bombay Rock on the corner of Cavill Avenue and Gold Coast Highway was one of the best places to play, as it was huge, had a big stage and two levels enabling punters to get a great view. Unfortunately, like a lot of Gold Coast venues, this place no longer exists as it was demolished in the 90’s I think. Tragic! but for about a decade it burnt brightly as the go-to place to catch all the 80’s Headline Oz acts as well as numerous Overseas bands.

This picture is circa 1985 I’d reckon. I remember so many great shows there, playing to absolutely jam-packed crowds. We even did a New Years Eve gig there complete with a midnight countdown. Memorable.. the place was bursting at the seams! It’s a damn shame that there is no sense of history on the Coast when it comes to music. Otherwise, we’d still have the equally legendary Playroom Cabaret, The Jet Club and the Cabbage Patch in Coolangatta and of course the mighty Bombay Rock !!

Cheers, Geoff.

Alas Cairns and Tablelands has lost iconic live music venues😭

I wish that I was 17 again!🤘🏼 The recent Redland Bay Hotel gig was the best! Love you guys! 😁

Fantastic place I actually was up from Melbourne and staying in Sydney hoping to see you play there,so when we found out you were doing New Year’s Eve up there we hired a car from kings cross and drove up,best New Year’s Eve ever, thanks for that xx

Yes two of our favourite place . Play room and the patch ,where I picked up my husband

Hazy memories of some great nights at all those venues

One of my favourite places.

Amazing venues amazing memories. Very sad they are gone.

The first concert I ever went to was one of yours - set the tone for my appreciation of live music, thank you x

Vague memories of NYE with the Radiators and B52 😎

Such great memories of Bombay Rock, great “ LIVE” bands every night. Radiators rocked also ❤️. Times change but memories will always be there.

Omg my favourite place back in the 80s drove up from coffs harbour on friday arvo to the playroom and bombay

I saw you and many other great Aussie bands at the grand hotel in Labrador. Ronnie the rabbit was the dj. It was like my second home.

with Broken Toys supporting … What ever happened to them ?? I do recall the Drummer , Peter , from Broken Toys played with Rusty and the Ayres rockettes for a while

It’s a screaming shame all the great venues are just about gone.. the breeding ground of many great Aussie bands.. what hope have the young’uns got these days to perfect their craft.. 🤷‍♂️

I agree completely Geoff. I was there on holiday with my parents in '83 and you were playing the following week. I remember begging my Dad to let us stay the extra week. The negotiations I was trying to make and the things I would do or give up in order to stay so my brother and I could go were hilarious. The fact that I was only 14/15 wasn't an issue lol he just wouldn't cave. To say I was devastated was an understatement. I cried my eyes out begging for days to no avail 😢. I will never forget that 'Bombay Rock Wants You' poster with 'The Radiators' on it the following week will just never be forgotten ♥

Saw you guys there when I was 16 what an awesome night but on the way home I'm asleep in the back sit the owner I of the car is asleep in front passengers sit and the driver was asleep and you can guess what happened all alive no injuries apart from the car on the way home to the sunny coast.

I wouldn’t trade my age for anything- this era in Australia was fantastic!

My fav was seeing you at Jindabyne Hotel during the ski season. Bands and dancing at night, ski all day - repeat 😜🇦🇺⛷

Loved that place!! That along with the Playroom were the spots to go. 🤘

Was on holidays in Surfers in May 1984 and went to The Bombay Rock to see my first Radiators concert. I was hooked there and then. Have been to many a concert since and like a fine bottle of red wine the boys keep getting better with age. Keep on Rockin, and look forward to your next central coast gig.

Loved Bombay Rock...saw you blokes there while on Holidays..From Wollongong..as if posted before saw The Rads at all The Gong Venues as well..

I lived there every night .... till Lurrie the bouncer would escort me out at closing time... Never had a better time to any Aussie pub band than the many times I danced away the night to the Radiators !!!

Great times on the Goldie

I had so many good times there saw all the eighties bands The cure the church to you guys Sad it’s gone

I use to fly up and go to Gold Coast oh the old days and I remember singing is with I was 17 and I was only 14 now I am 49 and I wished I was only 17
