We've had bigger crowds at Penshurst RSL before but rarely had a more fun bunch of people in attendance. Still a healthy size though and so thanks to everyone who made their way there for a bit of live music on a Saturday night. So many smiling and happy fans and supporters out to absolutely have a good time! The theme of the night was Shapelle Corby ( mixture of cheers and boos for her 😄) and we dedicated Coming Home to her later on.
Plenty of gags involving Bali, quality of pot and to whether she actually gets her bloody boogie board back? We also introduced to the crowd the latest techno device... The cassette!! ..somehow a copy of Hard Core on cassette was handed up to us and naturally it made it into the spotlight and we had a lot of fun with that.
Thanks also to all those people who purchased t- shirts last night . There were quite a few on display in the audience as well ! Love your work. Until we rock again good people, cheers from The Rads. ... See MoreSee Less
Mark GuinaneWas great to be there! Went up from Melbourne for this gig, after seeing you guys at the burvale in Melbourne the previous week! Started my day at 5am Saturday, now after 1pm Sunday, & I haven't been to bed yet!!! At 54, I'm proud of my effort, can honestly say The Rads are far and away my favourite live band!! Great to catch up with Brent Dehn for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, after not seeing him for 40 years!!!! Just got back to Melbourne, & must confess to being a little tired right now!!! Gotta love this rock n roll life!!!😁😁😁 well done guys!! See you soon👍👍👍 (after a sleep)!!!😳😳😕😕1 day ago · 5

We're thinking of doing a very limited run of retro Rads shirts. Eager to see some old shirts, posters etc that you may have from the 80s that might help inspire the design! 😎 ... See MoreSee Less

This Saturday night The Rads are back in Sydney and playing " A Bit of Pens never Hursts"...that is the Penshurst RSL in Penshurst St, Penshurst. ( how will we ever remember ?) ...Well we won't need the trusty sat-Nav for this actually, as we have played this great club quite a few times over the years and we definitely know how to get there.
Getting a parking spot is another matter though!
We have performed sold out shows at this venue on a number of occasions. Always a top night with enthusiastic supporters regardless, so naturally the band is finger-crossing for yet another big turn out.
We start fairly early too..at around 9 pm . As always, looking forward to the gig and just maybe ..you may be able to coax our guitarist, Brent into a little version of John Mellencamps, "Hurst so Good" ! ...
Gotta go .. we've run out of puns!

It was great to get down to Vic this weekend for two very satisfying shows. Good numbers at both gigs showed that there is still a lot of rusted-on Rads fans in every town and city that we venture to.Friday night at the Burvale Hotel in Melbourne was a bit of a triumph as we went over really well . Better than we expected ..and the crowd were totally into it and very welcoming. It was the same scenario at Geelong the next night. The audience at the Gateway Hotel were really up and out for a good time and the room was full of happy smiling faces . So many punters knew all the words to every song. ( even better than we did!)
We also got swamped after both shows ..with many autographs of peoples' old vinyl , lots of selfies and we also did a roaring trade in T- shirt sales.
We know that we just have to get back down this way a lot more often than we have . Thanks to all who came along . Love your work ! It was fantastic to catch up with you guys n gals again.
PS: From Mark
Hey thanks to everyone who came out to Melb gigs this weekend - what a massive response ! ... sheesh it's been way way too long since we played and was just terrific to see everyone come out and make us feel so welcome ... special thanks to our Melb sound and light crew who were all over it and as good as it gets ... we're hoping it's a matter of months rather than years before we get back and do it again ! ... nice to see some of our various extended family at a gig and not a wedding or funeral for a change .... Rock on Regardless! ...
TEQUILA! ... or cheers !

***Hard Core (The Demo Files)***
Ready for Download right here: bit.ly/2qqAbxK
Ah the Hard Core (The Demo Files) ..I remember it like ...the 90s...pretty hazy but it was my first recording of any kind with the band ..I'd been in the band about 3 months and had done about 50 gigs ...4/5 gigs a week and constant so it was good to get my "stamp" on some Rads ..I'd already given the old drum parts a kick into the 90s as the band got heavier and without the keyboards it gave me the space to do so ...
A couple of the demos had already been recorded using the latest Emulator sampling keyboard and drum tracks programmed by Fess..Century had already been recorded and Skin Thing I think ...I recorded drum parts on a electronic set up with home made trigger pads thru a Roland octapad..the lag in trigger time so tricky you had to play slightly in front of the beat
Hardcore stood out straight away with its rap style verse and anthem chorus it just reminded me of "Walk this Way" by Aerosmith so I was all over that like a rash...I'd totally forgot Going Crazy till I heard it again ..I think we only dropped it cause we had to drop one song it was a EP after all .. shame really, I like the changes and stuff on it but it was one of the last songs we had so it probably got less attention ...
It's raw and ready! Enjoy Mark ... See MoreSee Less
It's been a long time between trips to Melbourne. That's why we are excited to be heading south this weekend. It's a bit of a lightning visit with only 2 gigs, but it will be good to test the waters again.
We regularly get requests to come down to Victoria and play, so there must still be some hardcore Rads fans about in that part of Oz!
We will be at The Burvale Hotel this Friday night and then in Geelong the next night at the Gateway Hotel in Corio.
So it's time for all of our southern supporters to dust of your dancing shoes and get out and relive a night from your wild n crazy youth. We had so many memorable gigs and great crowds in and around Melbourne back in the 80's, so we are hoping to capture a bit of that again this weekend.
We are really pumped and up for the challenge. It's been too long ..but that's gonna change in a couple of days. We are in-form and primed to rip and tear!!!
Hope to see you all out and about.
Cheers from The Radiators. ... See MoreSee Less

A great gig last night at the famous Blue Cattle Dog Hotel in Sydneys' St Clair. With well over 300 people in attendance, it made for a pumpin' atmosphere. So many people seemed so happy to see us play. We were high-fiving and shaking hands with the punters before we had even played a note! Thanks to all who ventured out and made us feel so goddam welcome.
We gave a shout out to all the mothers in the audience as a nod to Mums Day this weekend .. And judging by the sea of hands in the air..there were heaps of em'..
There was even one bloke who was claiming to be a mother as well.. We correctly called him out as just a Motherf#*ker! Which went down a storm with the crowd.
It was another fun night and we really enjoyed ourselves . It's a great pub and the management and staff were also great and couldn't do enough for us.
It's not a bad job being in a band. You gotta love it!
