The Radiators

Winter had hit Sydney well and truly on the weekend with wicked winds chilling to the bone. A good reason to stay home in front of the fire or heater we thought. We expected a small crowd for our gig at Padstow RSL on Saturday night, especially as it clashed with Australias' opening game in World Cup as well ! Therefore we were rapt to see such a great turnout of hardy Rads supporters on the night. Good on you guys n gals, we thank you so much. It was a really top gig and we appreciate you coming out.

The club has a excellent auditorium and stage and is really right up there with any venue in Sydney. A real pleasure to play there. Nice to see a lot of people resplendent in their best Rads T-shirts as well. Very stylish! Once again thanks heaps for your participation and support . A memorable night indeed .

Love ya work πŸ˜€πŸ‘cheers and kind regards, the Radiators.

Save the Hawkesbury Hotel! That was the order of the day last night. We couldn't stand by and let another pub that specializes in live music go under without a fight. We joined forces with Shannon Noll and personalities Glen A.Baker, Dicko from Australian Idol fame, and the "Duck" from 2GB plus many others for a benefit night at Windsor last night.

We all donated our services and, with a full house of music fans turning up, it was a very successful evening. Proceeds went to the pub to help keep the dream alive and stave off the creditors.

The hotel dates back to the 1800"s and is renowned for bringing live music to the Windsor area and is the home of the annual Blues n Roots festival.

Good luck to proprietors Dave and Pete ..keep fighting the good fight. Thanks to all who attended and gave their support. Especially Shannon and his great band, who took time out from their busy schedule to perform a fantastic and well-recieved set. From Production to on stage backline, everyone put in! That's the spirit of rock n roll. Long live "live " music... long live the Hawkesbury !

Cheers , the Radiators.

Saturday night saw the band traveling north up towards Newcastle ,for a gig at Warners Bay Hotel . It was a special double header with the fabulous Spy v Spy and what a blast it was ! The show was sold out the day before and with the place packed ,made for a fantastic night. There were people everywhere and the atmosphere was great. The Spys were their usual excellent self and really went over well. This paved the way for us and we went on to a crowd nicely vibed up and in the mood to party ! So great to see so many people out and about and supporting live music.

Our thanks go to all the good people who ventured to the Warnie Pub and for making The Rads feel so welcome.

Geoff is still struggling ,and with confirmation of ligament damage, including a complete tear of one and partial tear of two others ! He will be hobbling for another few months as he goes through a course of physio and hopeful repair. Brian has been stepping up though and working even harder ( if that's possible πŸ˜„) to engage the crowd and lift the energy levels.

After all the bands mantra is "Rock on regardless !

Thanks again and cheers, The Radiators.

Back in Sydney on the weekend for a couple of shows and what crackers they were. Geoff managed to hobble through both without the need for a stool. Still struggling but rockin'... ( in his mind at least )πŸ˜„

Friday night at Taren Point in the "Shire" was fantastic with a good crowd turning out. We could for a change, see all the way to the back wall and everyone had a huge grin on their faces for most of the set. It meant we were hitting the mark ..with the crowd loving it ! The sing along in Comin' Home was tremendous.. what a buzz.

Ditto the next night at New Victoria Hotel. Almost a clone of the night before. Another great crowd and a fun and appreciative audience. This is a rockin' venue and a much needed one in this area of Sydneys' west. The band on before us "Hellcat Limo" kicked off in fine style and got the crowd in the mood with a great set. Thanks heaps guys !

Thanks to everyone for your support and enthusiasm on the weekend. It never ceases to amaze us ..and we never take it for granted! Luv ya work good people.

Cheers from the Rads.

Whoever said "A Bit of Pain Never Hurts" ?...

Hi Folks, Geoff here and I am still suffering from my fall down the fire escape at the back of the Longley Hotel in Tasmania, the weekend before last. I severely twisted my ankle and it has swollen up like a football . X-rays revealed no breaks fortunately and I'm booked in for further scans to what I suspect is ligament damage.

I had to hobble onto the stage at the Pioneer Tavern in Penrith on Friday night and do my first show with the Rads sitting on a bloody stool! It was weird but got through ok . Thanks to all the punters who showed sympathy after the gig, although I couldn't believe all the sarcastic references to my tumble being due to alcohol or drugs !!πŸ˜„ ( no comment !)..

Saturday we flew to Brisbane to be a part of the MixFM big concert. A dozen acts all playing their biggest songs made for a spectacular gig . A massive sell out crowd of what looked like about 10,000 people rolled up. I was determined not to sit on a stool for this event, and managed to get through our 6 song set with the aid of some painkillers .. (again no comment).. and my best Rick Brewster of the Angels impersonation. A fabulous night and we went over ridiculously well. Thanks Brissy!!

Sunday arvo saw us down at the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast for another 4 o'clock kick off and our third gig in 44 hours. ( glad I was following doctors orders to stay off my feet!) It was a great vibe as is usual at this fantastic pub. Thanks to everyone who came along for what was a relaxed and fun gig. We were out the door and straight to the airport for the 8.05 out of Cooly back to Sydney.

A busy weekend and my thanks to the boys for putting up with and covering for " the cripple". Too bad my foot has blown up again. At least another week with walking stick coming up but ,the old cliche, " the show must go on".. is one that all musos live by. Hey.. a bit of pain does bloody hurt !!πŸ˜„πŸ‘ Cheers ,Geoff.

It's been a while since we played Tasmania so it was nice to finally get back there on the weekend. We went over so well at all three gigs and made us realise "why haven't we been back sooner?"

There is a stronghold of Rads fans in the Apple Isle and they made us feel so welcome. Good crowd at the Tapas Lounge in Devonport on Friday night in what is a real rock n roll venue and a pleasure to play. Saturday night we were rockin' the Hotel Tasmania in Launceston . The numbers weren't huge but the spirit was fantastic and everyone had a great time at this classy establishment.

Sunday's show was an afternoon gig at the Longley Hotel ,about a half hour out of Hobart. We kicked off at 4 o'clock to a huge roll up of punters. What a great place and vibe ! The place was packed and it was a sea of smiling faces . Such a massive response. As it was Mothers Day ,we dedicated "Gimme Head" to all the Mums in the audience...and there were heaps of 'em πŸ˜„β€οΈ. Who says that the Rads aren't total romantics? A fun day and a great way to finish a successful weekend for the band. We hope we can get back down to Tasmania again real soon. Thanks to all who came along and supported us .

Love ya Tassy !! Cheers from the Radiators.
