NRL Grand Final on Sunday and we were booked to play a gig ! Our show at Ettalong Diggers Club had been in our books for months but it was only in the last couple of weeks that we realized to our horror that we would miss seeing the GF! Luckily none of our teams were playing so it was a bit easier to take. πŸ˜„

The main problem we thought was that there would be no one there. Everyone would be watching the game and unfortunately, we would be playing to a virtually empty room!Well... Wrong, wrong, wrong (and glad to be on this occasion. ) A great roll-up of people ready to party and rip into it with the Rads and Mental as Anything double.

Good on you everyone for supporting live music and hooking in. Knowing that the next day was a public holiday, certainly helped things along thats for sure! It was a fun gig.

We even did an impromptu Country and Western version of Gimme Head which went down well.πŸ˜‚.

The Mentals were on fire as well and played great, so it was a top night all around for everyone.

Thanks so much to all who came along to the fabulous Diggers Club.

Cheers from the Rads 😎😎😎😎

No, Thank you! Had a great night Rockin Out to 'The Rads', Pub Rock rules for sure. Got to relive my youth. It was like stepping back in time to this gig my mate and I attended over 29 years ago. I handed Geoff one of these ticket stubs. The Rads have still got it,in fact they never lost it. See ya at the Bateau Bay Hotel in early November fellas.

Sorry I missed the gig but the Roosters in the GF - I couldn’t miss that

A fantastic night guys, b seeing you again at Bateau Bay!!!

I used to see you guys a lot when living in Sydney. Any chance you guys coming to Perth? Thanks.

Awesome show guys...full review and gallery up at redbackrock.com/gigs2

Would have loved to have been there but work unfortunately

probably australia's 2 best bands (along with Doc Neeson's Angels) . Wish I lived a couple of thousand km closer. Have seen you both separately many times but together - oh my. that would rock.

It’s more like the grand final we’re lucky to have people there knowing that THE RADIATORS were playing

NRL is on the way out. The Rads are on the way up πŸ‘πŸ€£

It was a great show! Great friends, great music - worth the trip from the USA Kim Ransley Angie Evans Mark Ransley Helene Ritter Tony Evans

You should’ve been playing at the Grand Final

Sorry guys my team were in the gf and won πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

I love you guy!

Next year you should be the pre game entertainment ... that would be awesome

I hope someone got that country music version of Gimme Head on video!!!???

Stephen Brand

Where to next

Wendy Eggins β€œcountry version of gimme head went DOWN well...... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Coming Home! Crowd going wild.

Who watches the footy anymore anyway? The ratings have dropped by approx 1/2 million viewers. Maybe people are starting to realise believing the NRL is real is like believing Home & Away is real. I’d rather see you guys , and looks like many others feel the same too.

Next year you should be the pre game entertainment ... that would be awesome

The Radiators

Saturday night saw the band back in the Sutherland Shire.

A familiar stomping ground for the Rads for 4 decades now ,and one where we are always warmly welcomed. What was different this time was ,we were playing a venue that somehow we had never performed at in 40 years ! A miracle ! πŸ˜ƒ. Why we have missed the Engadine Hotel is strange as it is indeed a great live venue. Its got a bigger room than most pubs in Sydney. More like a small club room with a good stage and an unobstructed view for all the audience.

Great staff and a nice roll up of punters made for a top night at the Engadine. We didn’t see ScoMo in the audience however . We’ve been told besides being a Sharkie ,he was Rads Tragic as well. Oh well maybe next time .. We know he’s a busy guy. ( There’s a free new issue Gimme Head T- shirt for him when he does front up... Although we’ve been told to hide the Tequila!πŸ˜‚

Thanks to everyone who came along . Many many smiling faces and great applause told us we were hitting the spot .
Cheers guys n gals, The Radiators 😎😎😎😎

PS. Thanks Paula Turner for the photo.

Another successful jaunt for the Rads north of the border on the weekend, with 3 wins and no losses. Really good crowds at all shows and with fantastic responses afforded the band at all 3 venues.

Friday night at the Cooly Hotel was a ripper.. ( even though Geoff pulled out his well-worn gag .. β€œIt’s hot in Brisbane but it’s Cool- in -Gatta!”.. Were there groans we heard ?😩 .. or was that someone up the back having a great time ? .. Thanks Gold Coast for welcoming us back once again.

Saturday saw us return to Redcliffe Leagues and another hot reception. This Brisbane crowd would have to be one of the loudest we ever play to !! They are happy and noisy, and the singalongs to Hit and Run and the crowd participation in Tragedy and Comin’ Home are off the Richter Scale. They nearly drown the band out ! We might have to bring in a bigger PA next time πŸ˜„.

Sunday found us in new territory with an Arvo gig at Esk. Sort of between Brisbane and Toowoomba and in a bit from the main highway, its a rural setting and a lovely area of Qld. A quaint little town and a fantastic original vintage Pub that dates back to 1890. We joked of course with the audience of the Esk Club Hotel that the Rads did a show back there in 1894 when we were first starting out . A bloody good roll-up of people who obviously enjoyed our set made for a top show .. even allowing for the 2.30 kick-off! It was hot but fun . ( Brent even had a small patch of perspiration on the front of his t shirt!! )..😳 Although we suspect he just spilt a bit of beer on himself to make it look like was working hard πŸ˜‚.

A mad dash back to Brisbane airport then followed, to catch one of the last planes out of town.

Our thanks to all who came along to our shows and supported us with such fervour. You never disappoint Qld. Luvya work !!

Cheers from The Radiators 😎😎😎😎

Woo hoo !! Off to South East Qld this weekend for 3 shows . Two of our favourites as well, in the Coolangatta Hotel on Friday night and then on Saturday , Redcliffe Leagues and a brand new one for us , an early arvo show at the Club Hotel in Esk on the Sunday.

Really looking forward to all of them.

Our last gig was in Central Qld the weekend before last ,in what was a blitzkreig 24 hours. Starting with a great gig at Wallsend ( Newcastle)..Mezz Bar on Friday and ending in Moranbah Qld ( aprox 800 km north of Brisbane and a couple of hundred K inland) ..20 hours later. We were invited to be a part of the 4U2 Charity concert which also featured The Eurogliders, Killing Heidi and Jon Stevens. It was a fantastic day with all the bands absolutely firing up and giving great performances ,amid a really good camaraderie amongst all the acts backstage . We were a bit worried though . We’d heard that our mate Jon Stevens was on the warpath ..after someone sent him our recent Ettamogah blog ! Yeah .. apparently we’d left out β€œ Really friendly with a great sense of humour β€œ .. Sorry Jon πŸ˜‚

No it was great to catch up again ,and he even let the Rads loose on his rider! ( that’s the last time he’ll do that. )πŸ˜„ Thanks Mezz Bar and Moranbah for a memorable weekend. See y’all in Qld again in a few days.
Cheers from the Rads 😎😎😎😎

Quickly running out of superlatives to describe our shows lately! Not that we are complaining, but it probably makes for boring reading for a lot of you. β€œGreat shows, great crowds, great reaction etc etc .”, week after week. But what else can we say? It’s the truth!

We have been blessed to have the best bunch of loyal fans and supporters. You guys n gals keep turning up and we are eternally thankful!

The old Comb n Cutter at Blacktown on Friday night and the Caringbah Inn in the Shire the next night were cracker gigs .

We work hard ..but consider ourselves lucky to be in this position .. an unbelievable 40 years down the track. It’s a team effort .. us and you guys. πŸ˜„πŸ‘.

β€œThanks everyone β€œ.. just doesn’t seem enough ,but in the end maybe ..and hopefully,it is !!

Love your work good people, cheers, the Rads 😎😎😎😎.

Boring and The Rads will NEVER mix, you could just write "Hi" and we would be estatic. It is lovely to hear from you and we are happy to hear "great gigs, packed house, fun nights" etc anytime as for those who can't get to see you live really enjoy hearing that. We are so proud of you and respect and love you so much. Thanks for all your hard work that continues to liven our souls. I don't know how you guys perform so often (I know you are supermen lol), though I am sure glad you do. It's just pure perfection, you will always make my heart smile 😊β™₯

Such an iconic Australian band that has never truely received the recognition it deserves. The Rads have always been and always will be my favourite band of all time.

It’s us your fans that can’t thank you enough.... The Radiators have given us so much fun and enjoyment so thank YOU for all you have given us for the last 40years.

Forever a fan and have lost count how many times I have seen you guys in the last 30 years!! Love the Radiators ❀️

I’m just tickled pink that we can still see such an iconic Aussie rock band at local venues. I’ve always been a huge fan and when I leave this earth I hope the song playing at my funeral will be β€œI wished I was 17 again!”

Totally deserved. Love the Rads🀘🀘

Absolutely love going to see you! You never fail to impress and you look as though you are loving performing as much as the crowd loves watching you!!! Go on tour with Pseudo Echo (they're as great to watch as you guys are)

Love the Rads. Never seen them do "Acoustic" Never seen them do "Other bands Albums" The Rads continue to play Their music the way we know and love them. This is why your fans will always love what you do. Never change..

We LOVE YOU. Never stop. You guys are the true testimony of RNR never dies. Keep on rocking. You’re GREAT guys and Australia would be LOST without you 😘😘🀘🀘

Please comeback to the central coast. Your awesome. Xx

Beautiful words. Love your work guys. ❀️

As you guys sing, our loyalty, well, β€˜It’s Automatic’ 😜 Thanks for 40years of awesome gigs πŸ™πŸ»

No words needed for all us fans to know just how good you guys really are,the proof’s in the pudding boys, that’s why we keep comeing back to see ya’s again n again, and I can’t wait to see your next show that’s coming up in Queensland,Roll on the Rads

No words needed mate. Great to see you all still out there, pumping the great vibes.

Keep it up!! We love it! 😎

Without you guys we haven’t got a band to be β€˜fans’ of!! So thank YOU for your hard work!! Xxx

Come play in Byron Bay we love our music

Come back to Tassie soon we love you guys

We thank you guys too!!

🀘😎 Rock on Rads , Awesome .

Simply two words : Thank You.

Awesome show guys at the Caringbah Inn in The Shire on Sat 25/8. I'll be coming again when you do the Engadine Tavern in Sept. You guys are the best & still rockin it just like when I used to come & see you over 30 years ago. One of my mates saw you for the first time at Caringbah as well & he was impressed only minor complaint he had was that Up For Grabs wasn't in your set which is ones of his faves.

when you up at toowoomba again. the last time i came and saw you guys 4 year ago was just afte rmy heart attack and couldnt dance. well im ready to now.x.

You don't have to feel bad saying great show when the many many fans of your band will say it for you wherever you perform at. To still be performing after 40 years and getting massive crowds at each gig you know you have done something right.

When you are the best & you give the best.......you get the best (if that makes sense) 😎

The Radiators

We were a bit worried on Saturday night as our gig at Riverstone Memorial Club was just down the road really, ( in fact 7 km) ..from our very successful one at the Ettamogah the previous weekend. That's why we were surprised and delighted at the number of people who turned up. The place was packed, people everywhere and another fantastic night for the band.

A big thanks to all the locals who came out and gave us a big Rivo welcome. It’s quite a big club too, really nice, and obviously is the epicentre of entertainment in the area.
Is it true that the locals didn’t want the brand new train line to connect to Riverstone anyway? Apparently, they wanna keep all the riff-raff out! ( Well we managed to sneak in though 😜)..

On another note...It was great to see our mate Dennis Sales, not only out and about, but actually playing drums in the support band. It was driving home from this very gig that Dennis was involved in a horrific accident that very nearly killed him and tragically claimed the life of a young woman in the other car. You may remember the incident as the β€œ3 girls playing chicken and forcing other drivers off the road while filming on their phones β€œ Bloody tragic and crazy! So it was unreal to see Dennis play and then later bopping at side of stage. Legend !πŸ‘onwards and upwards to full recovery pal.

Thanks once again to everyone who came out on a cold Winters night and supported live music.Onya Rivo!

Cheers from the Rads .😎😎😎😎

I was there on Sunday for a family luncheon and realised you guys payed the night before πŸ™

Grew up in that area and went to Rivo High in the 70s. Would loved to have been there but I live in QLD now so just a bit far away ☺️ Glad it was a good night. ❀️

I would travel a 1000k to see the rads best touring band in Australia. Brilliant shows over 20 times I have seen you guys always on top of your game

Great night had by all & a bonus to see Dennis Sales Well done πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Come to nowra please

Thanks Guys . Australia’s best rock band . Shan Bags Ken Morrow Adrian Sutton

Wow this is pretty classy. It shows a genuine respect and appreciation to the fans not always seen. Awesome. The more I learn about The Radiators and how much love their is for them out there the more it seems to be justified.

Yes, Peter form High st music is in that band. I’m glad Dennis is back and drumming again. πŸ‘

Awesome and glad to hear he is playing again. That story cerainly was a tragic one 😒

I finally got tix for The Cooly gig. πŸ€ͺ

The Radiators

When we arrived for our show at the Ettamogah Hotel in Sydney’s northwest on Saturday night, we were told that Jon Stevens had played there the night before and had pulled 750 people. It was a collective β€œDoh!” by us , as we thought he would have got the cream of the rock audience for the weekend ..and we would be playing to just a few hardy souls. Bloody Stevens!😑

He’s a mate of ours but ... take away his impossibly good looking face and his he - man body , his brilliant rich toned masculine voice and his fantastic back collection of songs... the guys got Nothin’!!! πŸ˜„

So we were rapt to see a surprisingly large amount of bods when we hit the stage at this iconic venue. What a night ! It was so much fun and the crowd were really up for it. People were just smiling non stop through out the show and sending us such warm feedback. It was a cracker and we thank all of you good souls who turned up and gave the band such a great reception.

After the show and as were cooling down in the dressing room, word filtered back from management that we had a bigger crowd than Jon Stevens! Woohoo ! ... See.. looks and talent aren’t everything !!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ We must have something,.. but after 40 years we still didn’t know what it is !

Thanks again everyone, cheers from the Rads.😎😎😎😎

PS thanks Sharan Prince for the photo! πŸ‘

Back in Mark Lucas territory on Saturday night. Mark, a long time resident of Penrith and long suffering Panthers tragic . Unfortunately his team went down ..but that didn’t affect his performance or the mood of the locals ,who turned out for the Rads at the Jamison Hotel.

Better crowd than we expected as we’ve been hitting this area quite hard in 2019. Thanks to all you good people for coming out and supporting us once again ,in the usual rowdy Penrith style. Plenty of smiles and encouragement. A great night indeed. Onya guys n gals !

Cheers from the Radiators.😎😎😎😎

Thanks heaps Janine Brayshaw for taking the shot πŸ™‚

A special shout out and thanks to our support band on all our 4 shows in FNQ. The terrific trio and local Cairns legends..β€œClam Sandwich β€œ. A really great band with a stack of bloody good original music. The guys worked hard every night to work the crowds up and went over really really well. They were a huge help to us as well, supplying back line and drums ,and generally being quasi roadcrew .. way above and beyond what we could have hoped for or expected. A huge thanks to Rueben, Lofty and Dan. Much appreciated lads ,and good luck with the β€œClams”. You guys rock !! Cheers and Tequila 😜, the Rads.
. Love your work Clam Sandwich.

Gotta love that name πŸ˜‚
